The Rovuma Located in the heart of Maputo, right in front of the old Cathedral, the Rovuma Carlton is a modern and unique city Hotel that does well in combining the comforts of a Westernised Hotel with an African atmosphere.
With a total of 131 rooms (with all mod cons such as mini bars, hairdryers etc), the Rovuma is the best option in Maputo; there are a range of rooms, from luxury suites to excecutive suites and from standard rooms to exceutive rooms. The main restaurant, Monomotapa serves a la carte and buffet ,meals that are of a high standard but the restaurants around the local; area have much more to offer those who want to really experience a Mozmbiquan city. The shopping centre situated on the Ground Floor offers a wide range of services, and provides as well a good opportunity for shopping. Rovuma can be considered as a meeting point for social and business ventures however do not exopect to be overawed; as with any of the Mozambican cities, their hotels are usually set up primarily for business whilst also offering a place for visitors to rest their headcs for the night whilst on the way to the coast. However, the Saseka bar does serve a mean margerita and the pool deck is ceratinly worth lulling around in for a few hours. There are also some superb opportunites around the area for the more active amongst us with golf, tennis, squash and even flying lessons and skydiving courses available.
